Installation:
Copy the AnimViewer.utes folder to your mission folder, e.g.

\My Documents\ArmA2\missions or
\My Documents\ArmA2 Other Profiles\[profile name]\missions

Start up the mission editor on Utes and load the AnimViewer.

To add the Viewer to your own mission, copy the folder 'AnimationViewer' to your mission folder.
Add this to your 'description.ext':

#include <AnimationViewer\include.h>

Add this to your 'init.sqf' or the Init line of any unit:

Note: Don't forget to remove all the above before exporting your mission to SP / MP missions! ;-)

Installation instructions:


==========================

1. Following programs must have been installed on your Linux-box:
tar, gcc. Optional: md5sum (for setup integrity check)

1a. On some verions of Linux (this was reported for RedHat 9
and Gentoo linux 2.4.20) the NSCD deamon must be installed to
run ArmA 2 server successfully. Caching of DNS would be sufficient.

2. Copy the whole "ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead" directory from Windows
to some Linux-directory (arma2arrowhead). DON'T DO ANY DATA CONVERSIONS
(even "dos2unix" translation of text files is not necessary).
Example: you can use PKZIP (WinZip, PowerArchiver, etc.) on
Windows and "unzip" on Linux.
Don't use upper case letters in the ArmA2 directory name
(/home/bob/arma2arrowhead will be good, /home/bob/ArmA2ArrowHead
may cause some troubles).
ArmA2 directory should contain subdirectories "Addons", "Bin",
"Campaigns", etc.

3. Copy the "server-x.xx.tar.gz" (x.xx is version number) file into
the arma2arrowhead directory. Unpack and install it with commands:

arma2arrowhead$ tar -xjf server-x.xx.tar.bz2
arma2arrowhead$ ./install

Watch the messages - they will inform you whether your installation
is successful.

4. Dedicated server can be started in foreground:

arma2arrowhead$ ./server

Or in background:

o$ nohup ./server > out.txt 2> err.txt &
[1] <pid>

5. Running server can be stopped by executing:

$ kill -s SIGINT <pid>

Where <pid> is process-id of mother server thread (printed out in
"nohup" command).

6. ArmA2 ArrowHead server has a feature: command-line parameter
"-pid=<pid_file>". It causes creation of <pid_file> with
PID of root ArmA2 process. If IP port specified in "-port=<nn>"
parameter is busy (in usage), ArmA2 will terminate immediately
and <pid_file> won't be written..

7. The "arma2server" script is provided for automatic server
start/restart/status query/etc. Please be sure to edit
CONFIGURATION PARAMETERS in lines 12 to 18 !
After this is done, install (hard-link?) the script into
"/etc/rc.d/init.d/arma2server" file. After that it can be managed
by "chkconfig" (see info/man).

  • Engineer - Engineers have undergone some serious training and are now capable of repairing damaged vehicles and defusing mines. An engineer can patch up a badly damaged vehicle, making it operable. A damaged component can be repaired to 60% status; however, note that the total damage inflicted upon the vehicle persists, and further damage will be calculated cumulatively. An engineer can defuse mines, satchels, and IEDs. It's possible to order an engineer to repair/defuse something by standing close to it, selecting 'engineer' in your command bar, and then pressing '6-1' ('action' > 'defuse'/'repair'). If you are engineer yourself, simply select 'action' > 'defuse'/'repair' from the Action Menu (default binding is the middle mouse button).
  • Artillery Computer - All indirect fire weapons can exploit the brand new artillery computer by selecting it in the Action Menu (default binding is the mouse wheel). The artillery computer initiates an interface where you can see your weapon, and the associated minimal and maximal ranges on the map. You may adjust your fire mode in the menu to the right and select the target area that your ordinance will strike. The display will indicate an estimated time to target; once you fire the ordinance - by clicking the 'Fire' button - the interface will track each shot. Your aim will change according to your actions once you leave the artillery computer.

The intention of noBAF (or BAF lite+) is not doing BI harm, but offering a way to make playing BAF content (missions mostly)
a less annoying experience, and (maybe) wetting the appetite of players for the DLC some more.

noBAF changes in particular are:

-replaced lo-fi BAF music tracks with EP1 tracks
-replaced shapur island preview picture

Unsung Mod (ARMA 2)

ARMA II UNSUNG Release R1 Alpha.

Well it's been a long road, for our team. But we are glad to release this intro to our vietnam mod.
This is basically the foundation to our mod that we are quickly building on. It is an Aplha release, there are known issues that we are debugging but if we waited for all the issues to be dealt with Arma III will be already out.

THe island is a fictional area based on CSJ's Arma I lowlands. Everyone in the mod team worked as hard as Real Life would let them on this and previous unsung mods (OFP/ARMA I).

There are three SP missions that come with this release, we will be releasing more including various MP missions in the weeks to come, but we decided we didn't want to wait any longer. Plus I know the community will be making there own missions and we look forward to trying them out.

Nachdem er uns mit Duala bereits in die afrikanische Steppe schickte, folgt nun die Insel Lingor. Ein Dschungel Paradies unter der Leitung eines im Osten der Insel wohnhaften Diktators. Es erwarten euch malerische Ausblicke, knietiefe Mangrovensümpfe, sowie das ein oder andere Scharmützel zwischen Regierungstruppen und rivalisierenden Milizen.
Ausserdem gibt es Berichte über regelmäßige UFO Sichtungen, ob diese lediglich dazu dienen den Tourismus anzukurbeln ist unbekannt. Es heisst aber, daß viele die sich auf die Suche begaben, niemals wieder kamen...

ATV´s und Motorräder sind Todesfallen, Skodas lahm, und Busse neigen dazu sich rücklings zu überschlagen .. dies und mehr sind Feststellungen, die sich jedem Nutzer des Romella Raceway auf Lingor Island schnell offenbaren.

Nun schickt DaMan3 mit seinem Go-Kart einen neuen Kandidaten auf den Rundkurs. Es kommt zwar noch optisch bescheiden daher, ist dafür aber pünktlich da um es noch vor dem Fest kaputtfahren zu können.

Wer sich auf Takistan noch nicht an hügeliger Landschaft sattgesehen hat, darf nun seine Wanderstiefel etwas weiter südlich in der Region um die berühmte Bergfeste ToraBora einlatschen. Als Basis diente Chill xl seine erste Insel, Aiaktalik, die er nun allerdings stark überarbeitet und durchgehend mit OA Objekten bepflanzt hat. Fertig ist die 'Insel' allerdings noch nicht, wem der ein oder andere Fleck zu unbebaut erscheint, der muss vorerst das TownGenerator Modul bemühen.
