Q veröffentlichte heute in den BI-Foren die neuste Version des A.C.E.-Islandpacks, das hauptsächlich alte OFP-Inseln wie Everon, Nogova, Freya, Ocassus, Gaia und viele mehr in einer überarbeiteten Version beinhaltet. Die Objekte der Inseln wurden durch die von Armed-Assault ersetzt, auch findet ihr auf den Inseln z.B. Gras. Manch alte Insel ist sehr "kantig", um die Inseln jedoch nicht grob zu verfälschen entschied man sich sie im Originalzustand zu lassen.

A.C.E. Mod for ArmA 2, Official Announcement!

It has been nearly 1 year, since the A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Mod, for ArmA 1, was released.
Since that release, we have been constantly working on our Mod, to improve it, expand it, and fix the things we could.
In the meantime, ArmA 2 has been released for about 6 months, and our attention has been on the mod for ArmA 2, for at least that long.

Today we would like to announce our Public Beta Release.
We intend to keep updating our Mod on a daily basis in this Public Beta stage.
We do this to get as much feedback and bug reports as possible, as soon as possible, and provide everyone the latest code to test.
This means the development will be ongoing, new improvements and additions will arrive as we go


What is A.C.E. and what is it not

A.C.E. for ArmA 2 is a full conversion mod and is based on A.C.E. for ArmA 1, which was based on WGL for OFP.
The WGL roots were "When realism matters". We lifted this already a little bit with A.C.E. 1.
And with A.C.E. 2 it is no different. We try to keep a balance between realism and gameplay. We try not to sacrifice either in name of the other.
We try to please as many as possible, but it is simply impossible to please all.
Please feel free to give constructive feedback on our choices.


The Package

The A.C.E. Package for ArmA 2 consists out of 3 building blocks:

CBA and ACE are a requirement, while ACEX is an optional expansion pack.
This way, we hope to support our users who have requested smaller mod size, and ability to concentrate on their type of units/vehicles/weapons for countries they like to play with/against.

Status

Much of the Mod has been rewritten / optimized, and we have based our workflow and tools on CBA methods.

Installer, Updater, Patcher

There have been significant changes to the way we distribute our Mod.
Due to the ever growing sizes of content, and thus installers and updates, we have switched to a realtime patching system, called rSync, which is the core tool of the "Six Updater" Suite.
The software, once installed, can be used to install, update, maintain and repair managed modfolders.
It uses smart technologies to minimize the amount of data that needs to be downloaded, and is a very lightweight and fast protocol.

The technology has been in use for several months by the ACE team, and individual testers aswell as communities.
Documentation will be provided, and support delivered where possible.

Our milestone releases will be available in easy mirrorable 7z files, to minimize the stress on the rsync system, and give people casual means to download the initial install.

Ten years ago today, the small, independent developer from the Czech Republic, Bohemia Interactive Studios, unleashed Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis on the world. No one could have anticipated the effect it would have. OFP immediately shot to the top of the PC sales charts, and garnered critical acclaim from reviewers world-wide, including Game of the Year from GameSpy. The Cold War-era weaponry and setting, combined with open battlegrounds, and the most hardcore realism of its time resonated with fans, creating the ever-amazing community we have today. Though there have been many imitators (some more... "directly" than others), there will ever only be one OFP in the eyes of true fans. Today, ten years on, we are releasing our demo for Cold War Rearmed² to celebrate this anniversary and take you back to the Malden Islands.

Just remember one thing: If you see the flash, it's already too late!

Cold War Rearmed² is the sequel to the popular Cold War Rearmed Beta. It aims to recreate the experience of the excellent Cold War Crisis and Resistance campaigns from Operation Flashpoint, taking advantage of Bohemia Interactives's modern engine and gameplay enhancements from Operation Arrowhead.

The Cold War Rearmed² Demo Release celebrates the 10 year anniversary of the release date of Operation Flashpoint. Congratulations BIS!

This release showcases the capabilities of the small but dedicated Mod team. It includes many kind donations from other amazing development teams, and serves as a collection of works from the who's who of the incredibly productive and generous Bohemia Interactive Community.

Included in this Demo:

* Everon Island completely revamped from scratch, including all buildings, fountains, and other objects from the original. This island features some of the densest forest ever seen in the RV 2 Engine- going into the woods is scary again!

* A demo campaign made from a subset of the CWC Everon missions, plus bonus, community made, single and multiplayer content, including PvP missions by Celery.

* Over 150 units, weapons, and vehicles, not including subvariants. The full complement of assets from Operation Flashpoint have been redone completely to ArmA 2+ specifications, or enhanced from source material. In addition, bonus weapons and vehicles have been provided to add diversity to your user generated scenarios!

Important if you have the previously released standalone Islands:

The pbo files which came with the standalone islands are totally outdated by now. The only thing that can be kept are the terrain pbo files.
Everything else (buildings, plants etc) must be removed or replaced with the Demo pbo files!

I do not recommend to use the Winter release together with the Demo.

This will make BWMod v1.7 work with latest ArmA2 OA patches.

Everything in this is a hybrid of non working v1.7 config & a working but unreleased v1.8 config, + some other things.
Basically saying, it´s all Terp´s and he did it before. We only nagged him enough to let us make & release the fix - so we could finally play Flecktarn again!

2) add bwmod_fix.pbo & bwmod_scripts.pbo from this archive, overwrite if asked
3) for use with ACE mod, copy the files from this "optional ace config" folder into your aceaddons or bwmodaddons folder

-all errors from BWMod 1.7 in ArmA2 >1.54 environment gone
-now requires ArmA2 & Operation Arrowhead (CO) instead of only ArmA2
-Woodland units use black G36´s which are adapted to have OAs dual scope
-Desert units use OAs G36_Camo
-freaky Pzf3 animation fixed (replaced with 1.8 closed beta animation)
-Fuchs wreck wrong texture path (replaced with 1.8 closed beta model)
-updated ACE compatibility config addon
