Hello & thankyou for downloading my partial sound conversion for Armed Assault.

Boring stuff about this addon..
This started out just for me, my own little addon...I kept downloading great sound mods but being disapointed with one paticular sound, maybe it was the ak sound or a vehical sound anyways it drove me to make the HiFi mod. I wanted to enjoy playing the game with my least favorite weapon because the sound of it firing was so good (does that make sense?) anyways, It began slowly as I cannot make configs for my life. :( things soon began to pick up speed when I got in touch with Polo, creator of the awesome FROMZ mod and quizzed him alittle about his sound config. Being the great guy he is, he said I could modify his config so I could focus on building up my sounds. Well, things worked out well, a good friend of mine started to beta test the mod and before even I knew it I was writing this readme...I hate readme's....Anyways go try, I hope you all enjoy
Every single sample began life as a 44khz Stereo .Wav which has been converted to mono and dropped down to 22khz to make this, my first ever release a considerably smaller than my future work will be.. ;)

- Reworked SVD sound (Added punch and small amount of bass the the attack, leveled out the metallic sound))

- New KVSV sound (Punchier/better trailoff))
- Reworked M107 sound (added punch/louder as requested))
- New DKSM sound (Realism requested...))
- New KVPT sound (Now better suited to calibre))

- New Minigun sounds (all jocko flocko's work with a little edit from me))

- New Sidewinder sound (better quality/ longer trailoff))
- New Tow sound (tried to capture the 'wobbly' trailoff a real TOW makes))
- Reworked all Rockets sounds (Added punch to the attack sound and altered trailoffs))
- New bodyhit/manhit sounds (kept the screaming like bitches to a minimum...))
- New M203/GP25 Explosions (more varied & louder))
- New RPG/M136 Explosions (more varied & louder))
- New hit sounds (more varied)
- New Armour hit sounds (Based sounds on light armour/metal, bullets will bounce off & bounce around within the chassis))..well thats what I intended..if you use mainly
armour and don't like these new hits then pm me, ask me nicely and I'll make up some seperate heavy armour hit sound for you.
- Added Footsteps & Equipment(equipment sounds are there but my config doesn't have the revelent info so your 'roll' noises to go with the rolling animation don't work. (reworked resampled down to 22khz))
- made many 'good' edits to config file, various tweaks to add with immersion & realism

V1.3.1 Fix/Update

Howdy, just a little note before we get to the good stuff..As I said on the forums, post suggestions and I shall do my best..well I hope this holds you till 1.4. Thankyou all for posting, your input on 1.3 so far has been great, so much so that I thought it would be good to release another update before 1.4. Hope you like it...

-Optimised afew more files
-Reworked A10/AV8/KA50/AH1Z/UH60/AH6 Engine sounds again (sorry about 1.3, guess I was rushing)
-Remade A10/AV8 Burst Fire sounds, sounds now match amount off ammo used if burst fire is used..ie; A10=40 round half second burst, Av8=5 round burst.
-Remade All high ROF samples and minugun samples (I'm now alot happier with them myself, check em out)
-Reworked humvee, vulcan, m113, stryker and shilka engine sounds ( upped the pitch and the rpm's alittle hopefully better for you guys this time!)
-Made volume adjustments to all smallarms reload sounds (bout 3db!)
Theres bound to be afew things I've put in and missed out, just tried to follow what people had said so far across the forums....



V1.3 Fix/Update

-Optimised 95% of the sounds for better performance (Numerous sounds left alone for immersion, ie; sniper rifles, reloads etc)
-Reworked M240, Per forum request (More bass more chainlink action..)
-Reworked M249, per Pm request (Treble boost and sound modified)
-New M4sd, personal choice (I hated 1.2's version, so try this, and let me know!)
-New M2, personal choice (same as above, not enough punch in 1.2)
-New M9sd, personal choice (thought I'd see what you thought of this...?)
-New Sounds for Helicopter engines (all of em I think!)
-New Sounds for Aircraft (same as above! added more rumble..I live next to an airport!)
-New Gau 8 Avenger sound, forum/pm request (this is abit experimental, I'll explain later on the forums if people are interested.?)
-Reworked Cobra 20mm cannon, per forum/pm request (more realistic? tell me what you guys think?)
-Possible smaller fixes I can't remember :$
-Definate G36c burst fire sound fix and recoil fix! (Thankyou zGuba and all the Guys at Kelly's hereos! Your all heroes over here!)

V1.2 Fix/Update

-Altered all small arms volume, up afew db
-Reworked AK74u sound alittle, bit more poke
-Reworked M16 Series of weapons, totally new sound
-Tweaked FFAR Rockets alittle should work firing salvos better
-Reworked M2
-Minor rework of G36 Series
-MP5SD Redone, hope you like it
-M4SD Redone, again hope you like it
-M9SD,MakerovSD & Ak74uSD all reworked, volume increased
-UI sounds changed, more practical, smaller file size ;)
-C4 Plant sound improved
-Possible smaller fixes I can't remember :$
-Definate Bikey issue fixed (Thankyou Jman!)


V1.1 Fix/Update

-Hand grenade throw sound reworked. should work better with the animation.
-m4 volume notched up alittle
-Hand grenade Explosions reworked (added some bass frequencies to the boom sound and falling debris to the trailoff sound)
-M203 & GP 25 explosion sounds reworked (added more variation in sounds, watched some footage on Youtube, noticed variation in the sound over range was quite different so tried to copy it. the problem I beleive is that the 8 samples designated for this fire off randomly, so you could be firing at close range and here an explosion sound that would be virtually 200-300 metres away...Guess we'll have to see, please comment on this as I'm also considering building 1 base sound and then modeling the other 7 sounds around that, just for consistancy.
-MP5 volume notched up alittle
-Javelin sorted ! (nasty phasing sound busted)
-Bikey thingy fixed this shall be fixed by jman2704 soon


Installation;

Unzip and place the '@HiFi' folder into your main Arma directory, then modify you game shortcut by adding;

-mod=@HiFi
