Nach vielen Wochen des Wartens freut es uns mal wieder eine tolle Arbeit von den "Red Hammer Studios" präsentieren zu können. Seit wenigen Tagen laufen bei RHS die T80-Panzer vom Band, welche mal wieder nicht nur mit ihrem tollen Look, sondern auch mit netten Features, wie z.B. neuen Effekten, hübschen Animationen und authentischen Markierungen ihre Fans im siebten Addonhimmel schweben lassen. Eine weitere nette Eigenschaft dieses Stahlkolosses, ist einmal keine Brücke in der Nähe, könnt ihr den Schnorchel einsetzen und einfach durchs Wasser hindurch waten. Für dieses Addon benötigt ihr das RHS Decals Pack (V.1.3), als auch das RHS Heavyweapons-Addon.

The focus of the RHS Decals pack has shifted from the user to the addonmaker. Right now the full features of the pack are only available to RHS addons, but in the future, any addon would be able to use this system.

SCRIPTED FEATURES
To turn decal application on and off, add the following line to init.sqf accordingly:
RHSDecalsOff = true; or RHSDecalsOff = false;

Als guter alter bekannter veröffentlicht nun auch die FDF Mod ihre jüngste Inkarnation für ArmA 2 & Operation Arrowhead. Fahrzeuge und Einheiten sind nicht dünn gesät, wie gewohnt könnt ihr euch mit zahlreichen Jägern, schnellen Eingreiftruppen und weiteren Spezialisten, sowie ihren Gefährten vergnügen. Darunter z.B. das bereits aus OFP bekannte Patria AMV, aber auch NH-90 Hubschrauber, Leopard Panzer, Scania Trucks, uvw. geben sich die Ehre. An Missionen ist ebenfalls einiges für den sofortigen Single und Multiplayer Einsatz enthalten.

In Version 1.0 enthalten sind zwei SupAir Sets mit jeweils mehreren typischen Deckungen, sieben Farbmarkierer, sechs Ballsorten, vier Spielermodelle in passenden Jerseys sowie einen Referee, und am allerwichtigsten, vier Schutzmasken. Zur weiteren Platzverschönerung bieten sich unter anderem Bierbänke oder Chronometer an, für ein ordentliches Feld dürfte es somit an nichts fehlen.

An der größe der Stadt gemessen muss nun Opteryx Sakakah Insel nach langer Herrschaft den Thron räumen und Platz für Falludjah machen. Trotz der Masse an bebautem Geiet läuft die Karte erfreulich gut, reinschnuppern lohnt sich.

Installation instructions:
==========================

1. Following programs must have been installed on your Linux-box:
tar, gcc. Optional: md5sum (for setup integrity check)

1a. On some verions of Linux (this was reported for RedHat 9
and Gentoo linux 2.4.20) the NSCD deamon must be installed to
run ArmA 2 server successfully. Caching of DNS would be sufficient.

2. Copy the whole "ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead" directory from Windows
to some Linux-directory (arma2arrowhead). DON'T DO ANY DATA CONVERSIONS
(even "dos2unix" translation of text files is not necessary).
Example: you can use PKZIP (WinZip, PowerArchiver, etc.) on
Windows and "unzip" on Linux.
Don't use upper case letters in the ArmA2 directory name
(/home/bob/arma2arrowhead will be good, /home/bob/ArmA2ArrowHead
may cause some troubles).
ArmA2 directory should contain subdirectories "Addons", "Bin",
"Campaigns", etc.

3. Copy the "server-x.xx.tar.gz" (x.xx is version number) file into
the arma2arrowhead directory. Unpack and install it with commands:

arma2arrowhead$ tar -xjf server-x.xx.tar.bz2
arma2arrowhead$ ./install

Watch the messages - they will inform you whether your installation
is successful.

4. Dedicated server can be started in foreground:

arma2arrowhead$ ./server

Or in background:

o$ nohup ./server > out.txt 2> err.txt &
[1] <pid>

5. Running server can be stopped by executing:

$ kill -s SIGINT <pid>

Where <pid> is process-id of mother server thread (printed out in
"nohup" command).

6. ArmA2 ArrowHead server has a feature: command-line parameter
"-pid=<pid_file>". It causes creation of <pid_file> with
PID of root ArmA2 process. If IP port specified in "-port=<nn>"
parameter is busy (in usage), ArmA2 will terminate immediately
and <pid_file> won't be written..

7. The "arma2server" script is provided for automatic server
start/restart/status query/etc. Please be sure to edit
CONFIGURATION PARAMETERS in lines 12 to 18 !
After this is done, install (hard-link?) the script into
"/etc/rc.d/init.d/arma2server" file. After that it can be managed
by "chkconfig" (see info/man).

"Na ist denn heut schon Weihnachten?"; Das wird sich der Ein oder Andere jetzt wohl fragen. Lange hats gedauert, aber nun ist es endlich soweit. Opticalsnare, welcher schon mit früheren Versionen seiner Effekt-Modifikation für ArmA die Massen begeisterte, veröffentlichte gestern seine neue Version, welche den Namen "Blastcore" trägt. Doch nicht nur die laschen Standardexplosionen werden durch dieses Addon ausgetauscht, nein, auch viele Fahrzeuge bekommen in dieser neuen Version hübsche Gimmicks, wie einen animierten Patronenauswurf oder neue Mündungsfeuer für die Bordkanonen. Ferner können wir uns über neue, dem Kaliber der Waffe angepasste Leuchtspurmunition und weiter Kleinigkeiten, welche jeder selbst entdecken darf freuen.

Blastcore R1
- Visual Effects (Dusty + MuzzleFlashes & Shell Casings)

Known Issues :
- Muzzleflashes & Shells will not work unless a vehicle is present on the map can be anything from a ATV to Jet, dunno why i didnt have time to really fix this but its minor and im sure someone can help me with it.
- No muzzle light flashes for some vehicle based weapons Bradley, BMP2 etc

- Proberly loads more unlisted, see if you can find some post em up and i can sort it out.

Future plans
- Visual Effects (Woody + Snowy)
- Audio Effects

Anyway i hope you like it, there was some quick testing but nothing major due to the lack of time i currently have. All files have been signed and keys included, i think i done it right this time. If there are any major problems feel free to post them and your experiences as feedback is always welcome, but please take note that this was a very rushed operation and some things may still be a bit funky....

ToraBora "Sandbox Edition"

Wer sich auf Takistan noch nicht an hügeliger Landschaft sattgesehen hat, darf nun seine Wanderstiefel etwas weiter südlich in der Region um die berühmte Bergfeste ToraBora einlatschen. Als Basis diente Chill xl seine erste Insel, Aiaktalik, die er nun allerdings stark überarbeitet und durchgehend mit OA Objekten bepflanzt hat. Fertig ist die 'Insel' allerdings noch nicht, wem der ein oder andere Fleck zu unbebaut erscheint, der muss vorerst das TownGenerator Modul bemühen.
